Today David Craft had an excellent Op-Ed in the Business Journal.
If Patriot's Landing is built it "will drive a spike in the heart of the Haw River State Park."
David's Op-Ed also hits some key points that the increased pollution of Lake Jordan, coming in part from our section of the Haw River, may force the N.C. Department of Environment and Natural Resources to place greater water quality restrictions on Guilford County and Rockingham County.

CJ, it matters if you think preserving the Haw River corridor with its wetlands and wildlife is a worthy goal. It matters even more for the long range support of the Haw River State Park. The N.C. Department of Environment and Natural Resources, Parks Division wants to create a wonderful, huge park right in our back yard. Do we really want to turn down their ambitious project and send their $30 million, or maybe long range, $50 million dollars to other regions of North Carolina? This is a rare gift that we can all embrace and use.
Drive a stake throught heart?
The parcel in question is critical to the future of the State Park in Guilford County. We may end up with land parcels scattered all over the northern part of the County.
Want to picnic, drive here, hike on a nature trail, drive over here,
mountain bike, over here.....
The park need large contiguous parcels to the Summit. This parcel is the only one next to the Summit that fits the bill.
